Press Release_ Christian Community Health Center Named STD Testing in Orland Park, IL of 2022.docx
During Women’s History Month CCHC seeks to uplift the hard work and contributions our women staff, board, and community members have made to history, culture, and society. Despite hardship, exclusion, and discrimination, women in our South Side communities have strived and sacrificed for equity and equality. CCHC continues to fight for gender equity by providing access to resources such as reproductive care, social services, domestic violence counseling, HIV and partner services, and more to those we serve. Today we honor and thank the women and employees who have offered their talent and time to this cause.
“During the Covid-19 pandemic, five health centers on Chicago’s
South Side came together to improve the care they provide to patients.
As a group, they identified sites, such as church parking lots and
community centers, where they could jointly offer Covid-19 tests and
vaccinations. And they provided more of those services, and did
so more efficiently, than any of them could have done on their own.
That effort was enabled largely by the Southside Population Health
Collaborative, made up of five health centers that altogether serve
about 85,000 patients, primarily Medicaid recipients from Black and
brown communities. Since 2017, the CEOs of these health centers
have met regularly to discuss their common challenges and identify
mutual solutions to improve the health outcomes for their shared
populations: “On the Far South Side of Chicago, all of us provide
services to the most vulnerable patient populations,” says Veronica
Clarke, CEO, TCA Health.”
Christian Community Health Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Olatunji Richard Akintilo as our Chief Medical Officer as of Monday August 9, 2021.
Dr. Thomas is leaving CCHC. We wish him all the best!
