CCHC’s Mobile Health Van Program plays a significant role in addressing the lack of access to care in our community. CCHC’s mobile health increases access to health care for our community’s most vulnerable and hard to reach populations. This 35 foot, 2-exam room mobile medical unit travels to schools, churches, homeless shelters and community events providing everything from health screenings to physical/immunizations and more. CCHC’s Mobile Health Van allows uninsured and underprivileged children in the Greater Roseland Area and adjoining South Suburbs of Chicago an opportunity to receive high-quality, primary health care regardless of the ability to pay. The van has been in service through CCHC since 1999. Since that time, thousands of patients have been reached and received high quality and affordable health services. CCHC provides referrals to 100% of children seen aboard the mobile health unit if the results of their physicals are abnormal, or if they do not have a medical home. Through this program, CCHC aims to ensure that no one is left out of the opportunity to be healthy.
