Go Red For Women
Every 80 seconds, a woman is killed by cardiovascular disease in the United States. 1 in 3 American women die each year from heart disease and stroke. Although this is a scary truth, it’s something that can’t be ignored. February is American Heart Month and the First Friday of the month, communities nationwide are encouraged to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke. Heart disease is the leading cause of death among all Americans but is particularly dangerous for women.
Much of the risk factors for heart disease are found in our service area. For instance, CCHC patients come from communities where smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity are common. Since we pride ourselves to providing the best quality of health for high need populations, it is significant for us to support those who are at risk for heart disease this month. On February 7th, CCHC will be joining the rest of the nation in wearing red. Additionally, CCHC encourages others to #WearRedandGive in support of women’s heart health. CCHC welcomes you to come and check the status of your health too. CCHC believes in community so join us this month to raise awareness in solidarity. United, we are stronger than heart disease. Think as One, Grow as One!
