With heavy hearts, CCHC wants to let the community know that we are here for you. News of the killing of George Floyd saddens us and angers us. Yet this space is all too familiar. George Floyd is just one of the countless black people who have been unjustly injured or killed through police brutality. It is draining and upsetting and unacceptable. As a community health center that has been serving communities of color for almost 30 years we understand the frustrations of the people who are now protesting that “enough is enough.” We are frustrated too. To those who are peacefully protesting, we salute you and stand with you. As you continue to make your voices heard, please remember that violence is not the answer. CCHC prioritizes safety over everything else. Please keep in mind that we are still in the midst of a pandemic. Continue to follow CDC guidelines surrounding COVID-19 and protect yourself.
